After taking fine arts at Sir George Williams university in Montreal and the University of Alberta in Edmonton, she worked in oils, acrylic, water media monoprinting, concrete and most recently clay.
Her clay animals and figures are playful explorations of posture and personality.  "We are just beginning to understand animal intelligence.  Our understanding comes through observing body movements, posture, and the wisdom that shines in their eyes."
Carolyn has had many gallery shows, both solo and group with painting and prints in Alberta and British Columbia.  Her animals have been featured in the gallery at Butchart Gardens for several years and she has participated in both the Sooke Fine Arts Show and the Sidney Fine Arts Show for many years. in 2015 she won best 3D at the Sidney Show and in 2017 won the Award of Excellence at the Sooke Show.  Her bird image was used in 2016 for the poster for the Sidney Fine Arts Show and her heron painting was used for the poster for The Nature of Island Artists poster. Her work can be seen at The Avenue Gallery in Victoria and The Artym Gallery in Invermere, BC.
