Jesper Jensen

Jesper Jensen was destined to be a goldsmith, having grown up in his father’s Goldsmith shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1984 Jesper finished a 4-year goldsmith apprenticeship under his father’s tutelage, then left his father’s bench to work as a journeyman goldsmith for 3 years at another Danish goldsmithing shop. In 1987 Jesper was accepted into a design program for journeymen goldsmiths offered by Copenhagen College, of gold, silversmithing and professional design. He graduated 2 years later with the highest honors and two design awards. Shortly after. Jesper and his wife Karin emigrated to Canada where Jesper’s professional career advanced quickly.

Of the many awards to come his way, Jesper takes great pride in the prestigious World Titanium Council award, an industry award from his peers. Noted for an ability to meld old world techniques with modern technology, he creates much sought after jewellery designs in titanium combined with other rare metals and gems. Though much of his work involves diamond setting, Jesper’s favors the dramatic quality of coloured stones. Little wonder then that some of his finest creations involve the rare red, blues, and yellows of precious gems.

Jesper’s love of the outdoors provides inspiration for old country repousse art that is simply breathtaking in accuracy, detail and dedication to the discipline. Working in precious metals, his renowned for magically hammering three-dimensional forest and stream creations into metal. These rare pieces compound in value even before being delivered.
